Burned out by bots, bored by breakthroughs

Every week—scratch that, every hour—there’s a new AI release, a revolutionary model, a 100-post thread trying to explain AI agents like they’re quantum mechanics, and five more startups raising $20 million to slap dashboards on top of ChatGPT.

You’re just trying to keep up. Whether you’re a developer, PM, or living with tech, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind. Like you’re not smart enough to stay in the loop. That’s today’s flavor of impostor syndrome—now fortified with 50% more LLMs.

AI Agent Fatigue is Next

Sure, it sounds impressive and who doesn’t feel smart every time they say agentic in a sentence. But zoom in and it’s basically a program that sends your input to a large language model instead of a traditional database, then acts on the response. Think of it as a glorified switch-case statement—just with a bit more swagger.

An Agent is basically a program that sends your input to a large language model instead of a traditional database, then acts on the response.

Great branding. But functionally, they’re a lot like databases: you choose the one that fits your use case, your scale, and your budget. You don’t pick one just because it’s trending on Hacker News. Nobody uses PostgreSQL because it’s cool—they use it because it gets the job done.

In the end, it’s still the same fundamentals: request-response cycles, API calls, client-server setups, and solid engineering practices—just dressed up in new vocabulary.

AI fatigue is real—and it’s not just the tech. It’s the nonstop launch announcements, thought-leader threads, LinkedIn humblebrags, and endless prompt hacks to 10x your life.

Warn out? Hang in There.

It’s exhausting. Even the sharpest minds can start to feel like they’re falling behind.

What can you and I do? Smile and breathe once in a while. Stay grounded. Every hype cycle eventually cools—remember blockchain in 2017? If you’re a little older remember how 2000 was the end of it all. Yet, here we are.

Let’s treat AI for what it is: another tool in the toolkit. Not magic. Not a replacement. Just... code. Incredibly predictive code, sure—but still code.

If the AI space feels like a high-speed train with no brakes, it’s okay to wait at the next station. Grab a coffee. You can hop on when the ride slows down—and you’ll still be right on time.

Summary

AI fatigue is real. Constant releases, shifting jargon, and overhyped concepts are making even seasoned tech folks feel like they’re falling behind. But beneath the buzzwords—AI agents, foundation models—are familiar patterns: API calls, client-server architectures, and clever wrappers around LLMs.

The truth? You’re not missing out. You’re just drowning in noise.

Stay grounded. Map the new to what you already know. Remember: it’s not magic—it’s just code.

You’ve already got a hundred podcasts, blogs, webinars, and meetings telling you how AI will change your life in the next six months.

This is just a reminder:
You’re not behind.
You’re just bombarded.

And sometimes, the smartest move is to close the tab—and take a walk.

Thanks and have a great day. 👏
